Festival Director Bren Berry said ‘The festival has always showcased outstanding American comics and this year the sensational Bill Burr is a major coup for us along with 15 other fantastic American acts”. Bill Burr is one of the top comedic voices of his generation achieving success in TV and film as well as the live stage. Bill received raves for his recurring role as the sinister "Kuby" on the hit AMC-TV show, Breaking Bad and his Monday Morning Podcast is one of the most downloaded comedy podcasts on iTunes. Bill performed a sold out show at Madison Square Garden on November 14, 2015 and on December 18 his animated Netflix series, F Is For Family, premiered. Comedy is thriving in the US with the current 'Second Comedy Boom' and we have an amazing selection of acts including Joe DeRosa (Better Call Saul), Dan Soder (Billions, Inside Amy Schumer), Sasheer Zamata (SNL & ACLU's Celebrity Ambassador for Women's Rights), Chris Gethard (Broad City, The Chris Gethard Show), Annie Lederman (MTV's Girl Code) and Rory Scovel who recently finished shooting the feature film The House alongside Will Ferrell & Amy Poehler. UK festival favourites Milton Jones, Adam Buxton with his amazing Bug: David Bowie Special and Sara Pascoe (hot on the back of her new book 'Animal: The Autobiography of a female body') return along with Canadians Tom Stade & Stewart Francis, Australian’s Felicity Ward and Sammy J & Randy, Sophie Hagen from Denmark and Marcel Lucont from France. As always, this year’s line-up brings together & celebrates the amazing array of Irish comedy talent including established acts like David O’Doherty, Al Porter, Apres Match, Deirdre O’Kane, Maeve Higgins, PJ Gallagher, Foil Arms & Hog, Jason Byrne, Aisling Bea, Eleanor Tiernan and Neil Delamere as well as rising stars like Abandoman, Andrea Farrell, Davey Reilly, Danny O'Brien, Alison Spittle and Joanne McNally. Festival Director, Bren Berry, Aiken Promotions said, “We are delighted to continue our tradition of bringing exciting international talent to the Iveagh Gardens for this our 10th year but most exciting of all is the continued development of amazing talent here in Ireland. It is a pleasure and a privilege to work with this superb pool of artists. In recognition of that, The Vodafone Laughter Lab will host many of the grass-roots Comedy Clubs from around the city which are the lifeblood of the Irish comedy scene.” Robert Hyland, Sponsorship and Engagement Manager, Vodafone Ireland, commented “We’re excited to be involved in the Vodafone Comedy Festival again this year. The festival is one of the highlights of the Vodafone Centre Stage comedy and entertainment programme, which won the Sponsorship of the Year Award at The Irish Sponsorship Awards 2015. It is brilliant to see the wide range of talent, both Irish and international, performing at the festival this year.” Come early to the feel-good event of the summer in the stunning Iveagh Gardens on July 28th – 31st. As well as 45 individual shows in 5 venues featuring over 80 acts there are many fun things happening throughout the weekend including street performers, musicians, gourmet food and bars, and the always hilarious and bizarre lucky-dip that is the Horsebox Theatre.
